The Senior Systems Modeling Engineer will contribute to the modeling effort in a collaborative way. On the coding side, we follow best practices of code review, revision control, and style guidelines. But there is more to modeling than writing code; we also apply our knowledge of communications systems, physics, and satellites to producing meaningful results. In addition to modeling the way things are, the team prototypes and develops control and planning algorithms for the actual system. Our code base is primarily written in Python, but a candidate with significant MATLAB experience and a willingness to learn new things will also do well. To see more detail and apply, click here.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with NASA and other government agencies, as well as strong skills in business development, strategy and planning, proposal writing, and space communications. The position requires a thorough understanding of NASA’s organizations, the roles and responsibilities of Headquarters and the various NASA centers including JSC, GRC, and GSFC, and how NASA communication systems and services are architected and procured. Specific knowledge of and experience with the NASA Space Communication and Navigation (SCaN) Office, and the Tracking and Data Relay Satellite System (TDRSS) are strong pluses. The SpaceLink Vice President, US DOD Business Development (VP-DODBD) “owns the DOD customer” and is responsible for DOD sales, revenue generation, and growth. The VP-DODBD will lead SpaceLink’s penetration of the DOD market for space relay services and will develop and execute a plan to maximize revenue and profit. The VP-DODBD will build and maintain relationships with DOD customers and partners, develop and implement capture strategies, lead proposal preparation, and support contract negotiations. The Vice President, Intelligence Community (VP-IC) “owns the intelligence community customer” and is responsible for sales, revenue generation, and growth. The VP-IC will lead SpaceLink’s penetration of the IC market for space relay services, and will develop and execute a plan to maximize revenue and profit. The VP-IC will build and maintain relationships with IC customers, contractors, and partners, develop and implement capture strategies, lead proposal preparation in coordination with the technical team, and support contract negotiations and program execution.
